MEDIA RELEASE: Award Winners turn Award Sponsors Humpty Doo Barramundi to sponsor 2021 NT Farmers

Territory Natural Resource Management (TNRM) is very pleased to welcome a new sponsor for the 2021 NT NRM Awards.
Humpty Doo Barramundi are the generous sponsor for this year’s NT Farmers & Fishers Sustainability Award to be announced at the NT Natural Resource Management Awards on Wednesday 17th November, at the Darwin Convention Centre.
The NT Farmers & Fishers Sustainability Award recognises excellence by a primary producer in the management and environmental stewardship of natural resource in the farming, grazing or fishing sector.
Humpty Doo Barramundi won the award in 2017, in recognition of their successful commitment to transform degraded rice fields on the banks of the Adelaide River into a sustainable, high quality salt water barramundi production system.
The Territory family owned and operated farm, has grown from humble beginnings of just 300kgs annual harvest to become one of the largest producers of salt water barramundi in Australia.
"The health of our natural resources is essential to farmers, fishers and pastoralists whose livelihood depends on them”. Says Dan Richards, CEO of Humpty Doo Barramundi. “The efforts of many individuals and organisations to protect our natural resources tend to fall under the radar. This award celebrates and encourages those who take stewardship of our natural resources for current and future generations,” he concludes.

The NT NRM Awards recognise, celebrate and create greater public awareness of the diverse groups and activities that contribute to the sustainable management of the Northern Territory’s land, water and biodiversity.
The winners of the 2021 NT NRM Awards will be announced at the much loved gala dinner, on Wednesday 17th November, at the Darwin Convention Centre.
