KNUCKEY LAGOONS
CONSERVATION RESERVE
‘Knuckeys’ is a wetland habitat and water bird refuge in the semi-urban perimeter of Darwin. The lagoons are literally filled with thousands of magpie geese over the wet season, and the woodland area, where the Gamba Army is focusing its spray efforts, are a haven for finches, pythons and other fauna.
The Gamba Army is working with NT Parks and Wildlife to protect this area valued by bird and reptile enthusiasts, as well as reduce wildfire risk to the neighbouring Indigenous Community.
