NORTHERN TERRITORY
NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLAN
2021 - 2025

ABOUT THE NT NRM PLAN

Territory Natural Resource Management (TNRM) is the regional organisation responsible for planning, coordinating and facilitating natural resource management activities across the Northern Territory.

The Northern Territory NRM plan provides an overarching five year strategy for maintaining and enhancing the condition of our land and water resources, the productivity of our soils and the health of our natural habitats and biodiversity. It has been drafted following extensive consultation to capture community priorities across the Territory and is underpinned by the latest science.

By structuring the plan into four regions we reflect the diversity of the Territory landscapes and give a stronger voice to our regional stakeholders.

This is a plan for all Territorians.

HISTORY OF THE NT NRM PLAN

NT NRM PLAN REVIEW 2021

During the 2020, Territory NRM  undertook widespread consultations with NRM partners and stakeholders across the Territory, culminating in technical working group meetings in the final months of 2020.

Through this process, the Territory NRM team implemented the second and final review of the Northern Territory NRM plan (2016-2020).

Approximately 200 individuals contributed to the review of the plan. The review process demonstrated the power of collaboration across diverse community groups, agencies, industries and stakeholder institutions. The review highlights key lessons learned and the progress made towards achievement of NRM plan targets. Building an essential foundation for planning action and priorities for the next five years (2021-2025).
