HOWARD SPRINGS PINE FOREST

The Howard Springs Pine Forest is managed under the Crown Land Estate, and is a recreational mecca, with extensive mountain bike and walking trails, and a flora and fauna haven for the Howard Springs residents. It’s not just pine trees, with numerous billabongs, paperbark swamps, and woodland areas.

Howard Springs Nature Park is on the opposite side of Gunn Point Rd, with significant investment in weed management by NTG Parks and Wildlife.

This was considered a priority area for the Gamba Army to maintain the existing values of the ‘Pine Forest’, as well as prevent seed spread into the Nature Park, and along the Gunn Point Rd corridor, and to minimise wildfire risk for the residential areas adjoining the southern boundary.
